The Sato House

Located in the beautiful Oak Bay of Victoria, BC. This 3550 sqft double storey house will be designed for the Sato Family. Taking advantage of the ocean view, ample natural light, and a connection to the outdoors is essential. The weight, harmony, and textures of nature trails are the inspiration for the

space. Taking inspiration from the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, the design will focus on elements of organic lines, asymmetry, and balance. Natural, and light materials will be used to bounce and reflect light around the space as well as bringing cohesiveness. Bold and dark colours will be used to provide weight and identity to the space. Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese philosopy to find beauty in imperfection. A wabi- sabi home is one that will promote a sense of peace, and tranquility using simplicity.The home will be designed to play with light, bathe in it, and control it. Along with the palette and surroundings, this will create a harmonious peaceful haven for the family to enjoy.
